Sako
$84.99 CAD — Available in store
Sako Super Hammerhead cartridges in 300 Winchester Magnum are loaded with a 180-grain (11.7 g) bonded soft point bullet, code 236A. They belong to Sako's Controlled Expansion series for big game: the thick jacket keeps expansion under control while the bonded core helps the bullet stay in one piece and keep its weight. They come in boxes of 20 rounds.
Features and benefits
• Bonded core: lead and jacket are joined by a chemical bond, helping the bullet keep its mass and penetrate well
• Heavy jacket, non-fragmenting bullet: opens up in a controlled way instead of breaking apart
• Semi-spitzer boat tail profile: Sako says it flattens the trajectory
• Holds up well on bone hits, according to Sako
• Developed in Sako's ballistics lab, then put through big game hunting trials, according to Sako
